THE FEATHER TRADE—seven found poems

Denis O’Connor’s sculptures bespeak an ongoing engagement with the temporal world from which his emblems—these dreams of permanence—are forged. Like much of the poetry that has informed his work in recent years, the artworks excavate individual, family and broadly cultural histories. As well as being acts of observation and memory, they are also songs sung; they are laments, ballads and entertainments.
