Tuatara Open Late: Eavesdropping, LitCrawl, Lake South, and more

3 October 2019

Art, music, film, talks, beer, wine, and food. A changing programme of late-night events on the first Thursday of the month.

This month: Manus Recording Project Collective: Talk and Listen Session: Michael Green and Jon Tjhia (Manus Recording Project Collective) introduce a selection of audio recordings sent by six men detained by the Australian government on Manus Island: Farhad Bandesh, Behrouz Boochani, Samad Abdul, Shamindan Kanapathi, Kazem Kazemi, and Abdul Aziz Muhamat. Green and Tjhia are in Wellington as part of the Te Whare Hēra Eavesdropping Residency.

In a special LitCrawl taster session, writers offer their creative responses to the exhibition Eavesdropping. Hear from novelists Annaleese Jochems and Catherine Robertson, and poets Nikki Lee Birdsey and Ruby Solly. Chaired by Claire Mabey (Verb/LitCrawl).

Plus a live performance from ‘sentimental synth-pop’ producer and songwriter Lake South.

As always, our bar and galleries open at 5pm, there will be supper treats available for purchase from The Greek Food Truck, Tuatara beers, Seresin Estate wine, and sounds from Radio Active DJ Antsman.
