Media Release: October, 2014.
Tuatara Open Late, Thursday 6 November from 5-10pm
Tuatara Open Late takes place on the first Thursday of every month with a changing programme of after-dark events, cash bar and supper treats.
City Gallery Wellington invites you to put your most fashionable foot forward for a stellar line-up including film, fashion, art and music. Headlining the evening is Advanced Style, the story behind the fashion blog that became an international sensation. This charming documentary paints intimate and colourful portraits of independent, stylish women aged 62 to 95 who are challenging conventional ideas about beauty, aging and our increasing obsession with youth. To accompany the screening, we’ll be holding a best-dressed competition, so be sure to put you glad-rags on.
In association with our exhibition Ralph Hotere:Godwit/kuaka, we're delighted to be screening Ralph Hotere (1974). Director Sam Pillsbury's highly praised documentary captures Hotere's painting techniques and the art scene of the time.
Also, November’s Open Late will be the last after-dark chance to see William Kentridge’s spectacular video installation, The Refusal of Time.
