The City Gallery Foundation was established in 1998 to give individuals an opportunity to participate in the future of City Gallery and form a close, rewarding and long-term relationship with one of New Zealand’s highest profile arts institutions.
City Gallery Wellington Foundation donors are a special group of committed individuals who help make City Gallery Wellington one of New Zealand’s most accessible and exciting contemporary art experiences. By joining the Foundation you will assist City Gallery to deliver programmes that would otherwise be beyond its reach – to bring exhibitions from around the world, offer extraordinary opportunities to New Zealand artists and extend the breadth of its learning programmes. While City Gallery receives its principal funding from the Wellington City Council, it is thanks to the generosity of people like you that the Gallery can go the extra mile.
Join the City Gallery Wellington Foundation and enjoy a close connection with the Gallery and the opportunity to network and socialise with like-minded art lovers.
Come on board as a Foundation Contemporary or join The Foundation Collective and gain exclusive access to openings and previews, meet-the-artist opportunities, curator talks, studio visits and Foundation-hosted events. Members have access to the Gallery’s programme and the chance to broaden their knowledge of contemporary art through the expertise of gallery staff and art industry professionals.
Foundation Contemporaries have the additional benefit of a closer relationship with senior gallery staff and receive acknowledgement of their donation on the Honour Board in the Gallery foyer.
