Discover mural-size expressive paintings by Judy Millar, alongside ‘direct’ painted films by Len Lye and Stan Brakhage. Students will think about connections between painting and performance and find out about ‘direct’ film animation. They’ll use old school animation techniques to create a sequence of abstract images then watch them move a spinning zoetrope—a mini action movie. Bring your own phone or iPad to record students’ animations.
