Signs and Sigils Workshop 

Creative Camp is a new series of fun and accessible evening workshops that focus on developing a specific technique in a relaxed and social setting.

This month, join artist James Graves as we delve into a world of alchemy and magic to experiment with creating your own magickal sigil loosely inspired by Julia Morison’s exhibition Ode to Hilma. Using a variety of materials, from charcoal to clay and gold, set your intentions and summon up a gorgeous symbol to embody your deepest artistic desires. All materials will be provided. Bookings are essential. 

James Graves is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Te Whanganui-ā-Tara Wellington. His practice in drawing and collage has developed since finishing a BFA in video and performance. Recent exhibitions include Boys (2024), Drawn (2022) at Thistle Hall Gallery and Toi 500 (2023) at Toi Pōneke Art Centre.
