The Only Dream Left acknowledges Reuben Paterson’s immense contribution to the art and culture of Aotearoa, while revealing bold new directions and moves. In the final weeks of exhibition, join us for a special guided tour with co-curators Aaron Lister and Karl Chitham.
Together, they will discuss their experiences of working with Reuben to weave together the many complex strands that make up the artist’s unique and multifaceted practice, as well as what it means to present a career defining exhibition at this point in the artist’s journey.
The Only Dream Left is a celebration of exchange and encounter, hybridity and fluidity, spirituality, and sexuality, where visitors are invited to navigate the sparkling constellations that characterise Paterson’s unique vision. Kaleidoscopic in form and intent, Paterson's art asks us to see and experience the worlds we inhabit in new ways.
