Look, listen, and make! Our new monthly art club is for tamariki 1-5 years old and their whānau. Enjoy storytime, messy play and lots of curiously good fun. Booking is essential.
Each session begins with a storytime from award-winning children’s publisher Gecko Press. Next, get hands-on with messy play and create your own curious works of art! Each month we’ll have a themed making-activity often inspired by the Gecko Press stories we read.
Art Club emphasises sensory play and creativity and is run by local artist Greta Menzies. Each session is in our education studio. It’s curiously good fun. Booking is essential.
In our March session we will read Pablo, by Rascal, because it's about an egg! We will then paint a terracotta pot to plant something in because Pablo is about emerging and growing out of a protective hard shell. For sensory play we will make Easter egg shapes from cloud dough.
Brought to you by our partner the Wright Family Foundation. Our storytellers for each session are kindly provided by the Wellington City Library.
