Investigative journalist Nicky Hager takes a look at the history of eavesdropping in New Zealand—what our intelligence agencies did (and didn't do), to whom, when and why.

In association with the exhibition Eavesdropping.

Presented as part of November’s Tuatara Open Late.

Nicky Hager is an investigative journalist and the author of seven books. He specialises in hard-to-document subjects, such as military and intelligence agencies, public-relations activities, and unseen sides of politics. His books include Dirty Politics: How Attack Politics Is Poisoning New Zealand’s Political Environment (2014) and Secret Power: New Zealand’s Role in the International Spy Network (1996).
