Fun art activities for the whole whānau from 11am –4pm.

Activities include:

Explore kiwi ingenuity and test your creative skills by building a model vehicle from everyday objects inspired by Michael Stevenson's artwork This Is the Trekka. Watch short films from  Square Eyes Film Foundation. Take a family-friendly guided tour of our new exhibition This is New Zealand. LOOk!, imagine and create -try our new gallery activity cards. Plus performances on Michael Parekowhai’s work, the carved piano titled He Kōrero Pūrākau mō te Awanui o te Motu: Story of a New Zealand River. 

Timetable:

11am–4pm Build a Trekka-inspired vehicle – Education Studio

11am–4pm Art Cart – Foyer

11am–4pm Map magnet board activity and LOOk! cards – Reading Room

11am / 1pm / 3pm Talented kids perform on He Kōrero Pūrākau mō te Awanui o te Motu: Story of a New Zealand River

11.30am / 1.30pm / 3.30pm Story time with Dick Weir - Reading Room

11.30am / 12.30pm / 1.30pm / 2.30pm / 3.30pm Film screenings with Square Eyes Film Foundation - Auditorium

12.15pm / 2.15pm Family-friendly exhibition tour of This is New Zealand. Start in foyer
