A one-off screening of Pilgrimage from Scattered Points, a film by acclaimed Glasgow-based artist, filmmaker, and musician Luke Fowler. This is Fowler’s portrait of the enigmatic composer Cornelius Cardew and his original Scratch Orchestra, an important influence on New Zealand artist Philip Dadson, founder of a local version of Cardew’s orchestra and then From Scratch.
The screening is followed by a discussion with Fowler and Mark Williams, Director of Circuit Artist Film and Video Aotearoa New Zealand.
Presented in partnership with Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi, in association with their exhibition Passages: Luke Fowler, Florian Hecker, Susan Philipsz, 16 February – 21 April, 2019. Fowler’s visit is supported by Cultivating Creative Capital at Victoria University of Wellington and Creative Scotland.
