Michael Parekōwhai’s photographs and piano
Begin your day with Michael Parekōwhai’s photographs of flowers, and then create your own drawings and paintings. After looking at the artist’s piano, try your hand at creating your own cardboard sculpture.
Thursday 19 April, 10am–4pm
Abstract landscapes and fabric collages
In this session, we will make abstract landscapes inspired by John Drawbridge’s enormous painting in the morning and fabric collages inspired by Michael Stevenson’s Trekka in the afternoon.
Friday 20 April, 10am–4pm
Telling stories through pictures
This session explores how images can tell a story. Inspired by Hugh MacDonald’s film This Is New Zealand, we will plan and create together one big painted artwork.
