October Craftcamp Sessions
Tuesday 4 October, 10am–4pm
Figurative Sculpture
Back by popular demand! Inspired by the exhibition Francis Upritchard: Jealous Saboteurs, make a standing or dancing figure, first creating an armature (skeleton) and building up layers, using fabric and making clothing. Use various techniques and found, gathered materials including wire, modelling material, fabric, glue and wood.
Wednesday 5 October, 10am–4pm
Printmaking without a press
Start the day by drawing and designing, inspired by the exhibition Sister Corita’s Summer of Love in this workshop. Techniques explored are drypoint etching, stencils, mono-prints and collographs.
Thursday 6 October, 10am–12.30pm
Antarctic Softies
Tutor Gabby O’Connor will return to Antarctica in October. To celebrate, come and make a Weddell seal, penguin or orca ‘softy’ using fabric scraps from local fashion businesses. Suitable for beginners to the more experienced hand sewer.
