Square Eyes School Holiday Screenings: Zog & Zog and the Flying Doctors

28 April 2021

Our friends at the Square Eye Film Foundation are back again to share whānau friendly cinematic magic these school holidays.

We have not one, but two terrific star-studded Zog tales from Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning Magic Light Pictures, based on the much-loved books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Dir: Max Lang, Daniel Snaddon, 2018, G, 27 mins.
Zog the dragon gets into all kinds of mischief when learning how to fly, roar and breathe fire. Can his generous friend help him with his trickiest challenge yet: It's Year Four, and he has to capture a princess! Starring Sir Lenny Henry, Hugh Skinner, Tracey Ullman, Patsy Ferran and Kit Harington.

Dir: Jan Lachauer, Jakob Schuh, 2020, G, 54 mins.
With the help of Zog and Sir Gadabout, Princess Pearl crisscrosses the kingdom giving vaccinations to creatures of all stripes. But Pearl’s uncle, the King, is doubtful and disapproving. Will he learn to trust in Pearl, and science, and rethink what it means to be royal? Starring Sir Lenny Henry, Hugh Skinner, Rob Brydon, Lucian Msamati, Patsy Ferran and Mark Bonnar.

Bookings essential, Koha.
