The City Gallery Book Club returns for Tuatara Open Late’s fifth birthday. Host Pip Adam is joined by writers Elizabeth Knox, Gregory Kan and Whiti Hereaka.

This month’s sci-fi reading list inspired by our exhibition Semiconductor: The Technological Sublime;

Elizabeth Knox is the author of twelve novels, three novellas, and a book of essays. Her work has been translated into ten languages. Elizabeth's last book was horror/Science Fiction Wake. Her next is The Absolute Book (September 2019).

Gregory Kan is a writer and programmer. His poetry books, This Paper Boat (2016), and Under Glass (2019), were published by Auckland University Press. His poetry and essays have also featured in exhibitions and publications at major galleries across New Zealand.

Whiti Hereaka is an award-winning novelist and playwright of Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Te Arawa and Pākehā descent. She is a graduate of the IIML.  She is the author of three novels: The Graphologist’s Apprentice, the award-winning YA novel Bugs and Legacy. She is also co-editor, with Witi Ihimaera, of an anthology of Māori myths — Purakau.
