If Wellington is at Alert Level 2, we will be able to present some—but not all—events from our Open Late line up with hygiene and social distancing measures in place. We advise booking in case there’s a shift in alert levels. Stay tuned for updates.
Art, music, film, talks, beer, wine, and food. A changing programme of late-night events on the first Thursday of the month.
This May, as we cruise into the dark heart of winter, frightening birds are taking wing. Catch City Gallery Curator Aaron Lister and The Dowse Art Museum Curator Chelsea Nichols’s illustrated lecture Come Play with Us, Forever and Ever and Ever, reading films—Marianna Simnett’s The Bird Game and Rachel Maclean’s Feed Me—through horror and ‘the call to play’.
In our Education Studio, make your own delightfully wicked collage, slicing talons and tails, antlers, and hoofs to create your own wicked tale of transformation.
Later, poets—Rhys Feeney, Anna Jackson, Jackson Nieuwland, Essa May Ranapiri, and Emma Shi—respond to CREATURE, introduced by MC Chris Tse.
Last but not least, swell to haunting melodies from up-and-coming Poneke-based singer-songwriter Zö.
Plus RadioActive DJ, supper treats from Taco Addict Food Truck, and cash bar with Tuatara beers and Seresin wines.
