CURATOR Lily Hacking ARTISTS Peter Gouge, Zoë Rapley
Wellington artists Peter Gouge and Zoë Rapley’s works are about acts of making—materials, measurement, time. Gouge’s small paintings radiate a sense of control. Grids of individually painted squares, they equally evoke the intricate parquet floors of old European palaces and the 1980s video game Tetris. Rapley's wayward work on paper, Tract 2, spills off the wall, across the floor, occupying a space between drawing, sculpture, and performance.
