Four projects—by young New Zealand artists Eve Armstrong, Darryn George, Sarah Jane Parton, and Areta Wilkinson—are not linked thematically, but are selected to spark off each another. Auckland's Armstrong arranges common materials and objects. Christchurch painter George combines formal abstraction with Māori and Christian symbolisms. From Wellington, Parton’s work—part social portrait, part elaborate fiction—is humorous and poignant in its self-consciousness. Auckland jeweller Wilkinson's works are linked by themes of portability and transition. Plus, there’s an accompanying programme of videos by Parton and other young artists: Steve Carr, Kah Bee Chow, Tahi Moore, Campbell Patterson, and Sriwhana Spong.
