‘Pokazukha’ is Russian slang, meaning ‘for show’ or ‘to show off’. G. Bridle works with the Retreat, his evolving, expanding collection of readymades and assisted readymades. Rather than offer a coherent narrative, exhibits in this show are clues in a larger scenario where the conditions of viewing are as important as the things themselves. What is shown is intrinsically connected with how it’s shown and what remains undisclosed.
