Matthew McIntyre Wilson’s show coincides with Matariki (the Māori New Year)—the rising of the Matariki constellation (aka the Pleiades or Seven Sisters). The Wellington artist weaves kete (baskets), hinaki (eel traps), wall panels, belts, and armbands from copper and silver. His show also includes jewellery and drawings, working samples and raw materials. Exhibits are presented in clusters relating to the seven stars in the Matariki constellation.
