Regan Gentry: Make Way

27 September–22 November 2009

Regan Gentry says cities should be designed for people and that public space and public life should be at the heart of urban planning. His Make Way takes the form of a highway flyover constructed entirely of cane baskets, rods, and twine. By replacing concrete and steel girders with flimsy materials that look incapable of bearing weight, he prompts us to rethink urban architecture and its relationship with both nature and people.
