Come together and celebrate the opening of our new exhibition season over two weekends for the chance to hear from artists and expert voices. Join us for insights into Archive: alter / image, Diane Arbus: A Box of Ten Photographs and Ngahuia Harrison: Coastal Cannibals.
Re-visiting alter / image: Feminism and Representation in New Zealand Art 1973-1993, one of the exhibitions City Gallery Wellington opened with in 1993, Archive: alter / image presents archival documentation and ephemera from the exhibition, in conversation with artworks by a range of artists included in the original presentation.
On opening day join curator Dr Kirsty Baker for a tour of the exhibition as she explores how the archive expands themes from the 1993 exhibition and considers shifts in discourse over the intervening years.
